Laura Shenkar
Laura brings 20 years of experience with innovative technology ventures to the water industry. She divides her time between helping companies launch innovative water management products and working with a limited group of large corporations to apply innovative water management to improve their bottom line. The Artemis Project coordinates water-related content for Going Green (
http://alwayson.goingon.com/permalink/post/23623), an annual cleantech venture capital conference.
Laura is active in public water policy initiatives with Environmental Entrepreneurs (
www.e2.org) and co-authored their first water policy paper. Reducing Greenhouse Gas Emissions Through Improved Water Policy estimates the impact of basic conservation with existing approaches and technologies in addressing the requirements of California’s climate change legislation, AB32.
As the crises around water management has emerged, Laura has taught executive education courses on the business models for innovative water technology for the New England Clean Energy Council and UCLA’s Anderson School. She has moderated panels on flood control for the
Netherlands Water Partnership, venture capital investment opportunities in water for the
VC TaskForce Water Crisis series and
California Clean Innovation Conference at UCLA. She also serves as an advisor to the Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Innovation Center Denmark.
A graduate of Yale University, Laura holds an MBA from Harvard Business School.
A US citizen, Laura has spent most of her career living outside the US. She returned in 2004 and lives in the San Francisco Bay Area.
